I got my Santander accounts all set up. The transfer of ISA from Halifax went smoothly.
Just a quick question, the account is called: DIRECT ISA SAVER.
Where does it show the interest rate?
(with Halifax, there was a + sign and when you clicked on it to expand it, it showed you the interest rate)0 -

There is also a 14 day cooling off period during which time you can change your mind about the account and get any money back you paid in.0 -

The interest rate isn't shown directly.
Online you will see the full product name (mine is: 123EXCLUSIVE 2YR MAJOR ISA FIXED (A) 01/05/2015.) and you can then find the interest rate for that named ISA elsewhere on the site (hard to find!)0 -

If they know you are transferring in, and if that takes longer, that's fine. I think that 14 day thing applies if you are funding it with new money and not transferring in.

I opened a couple of these for my partner and I in branch today funding them with a matured 1 year fix ISA from another provider. When I asked if I could initiate a transfer of my 1 year Santander ISA which matures on the 1st of May (outside of the 14 days) she said that when it matures I'll be able to upgrade it to this ISA (same account number / sort code etc.)
We shall see how true this is on the 2nd May I suppose.0 -

With their ISAs ending on 1st may I'd bet all my isa money the rates will be pulled just before!0 -

The 14 days is just the time you have to return the transfer forms, the transfer itself can happen any time as long as it's before 31/50

Thinking of transferring mine and OH's ISAs to Santander Direct ISA, something I'd vowed I'd never do as I had terrible experience of customer service a few years ago. I feel from reading this thread that things seem to have improved somewhat. Can't pick up any negative vibes. Anyone transferred in nice and smoothly?

My transfer last year was completely messed up by Santander but I'm all going with them this year - I must be mad! On the plus side, they did end up paying me more than £300 in compensation. Fingers crossed it all goes smoothly this year.0

Natwest messed up my OH's ISA transfer last year. They lost his money! Took them ages to sort it out but we got £250 compensation.
The year before that, Barclays messed mine up. It was several years ago that I had a bad experience with Santander.
I kinda get the feeling all the big ones are as bad as one another.
I've decided to go with Santander for this year.
Fingers crossed then!0
