Fridge/freezer help - looking for big freezer

We've finally managed to get onto the property ladder and moved into out first house!!!
As it's our first home we could only get a place with tiny kitchen. the seller left a fridge freezer but the freezer section is tiny. Since I've started looking I've noticed that this is really common. The fridge section is massive and the freezer is very small.
I make a lot of food and freeze meals to save money so this just won't do!
Has anyone come across fridge freezers that are the other way round with a large freezer and small fridge. Unfortunately there just isn't the space for separate units.

Same here, when I was buying mine I couldn't find any with freezer compartments as big as the fridge.
You can find a few models out there with slightly larger freezer compartments, for example:

You won't find one with a freezer bigger than the fridge - its a question of getting the best balance available, unless you go to the real extreme of getting a tall stand alone freezer and putting a counter top fridge on the top. We had similar aims in mind and ended up getting a Bosch bottom of the range one because it didn't have frost free (the mechanics for that take up space in the freezer) and it had a roughly 90litre capacity for the freezer space whilst also being a good price. Whilst its not frost free the shelves between the drawers are glass and removable so you can just take them out to defrost which makes it much quicker.Adventure before Dementia!0

I had the same problem when I was looking, I wanted a small fridge and large freezer, This was the only one I could find that had a decent sized freezer.

If you consider this one just be aware of how tall it is.0 -
My F/F is a John Lewis; for the height (about 160 or 175cm if I recall correctly), it had the maximum amount of freezer capacity.0

Thank you for the advice everyone!0

There is another point in favour of a separate fridge and freezer, yes you can buy to suit the split you want, but there is a benefit in not having to scrap the freezer when the fridge fails and vice versa, similar to why many folks prefer separate washers and dryers, although that's not just as simple as that;);)I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
We had the same problem!
Ended up with a hot point where the freezer section is the same size as the fridge section - fridge is about 6ft tall.
It was important to us to have a big freezer section so take a look at hot point.0 -

I vote +1 for indesit (19 years and 3 thermostats) fridges
and +1 for proline (20 years and probably obselete) freezers
Is there anywhere you could have a separate freezer? Mine's in a small room off the kitchen, what I optimistically refer to as the utility room. I just have a small integrated fridge in the kitchen.0
