Royal mail on-line postage

I have used this service for quite a while as it saves buying stamps etc. and everything worked ok up until last week.
The website uses Adobe Reader to generate the print function that allows you to print the postage on to labels or envelopes directly. Anyway, recently there was an update to Adobe which has resulted in some type of conflict with the Royal Mail website resulting in the postage you print not aligning properly with the label/envelope.
When this happened last Friday I contacted the PO help line and was told that they knew about the problem but that they were not working on a solution because it 'wasn't their problem it was Adobes', they suggested a work around which seemed to work ok for the labels I was printing on at the time.
Today I tried to print postage on to an envelope but this time the work around didn't work so I rang Tech Support again and was told to download Adobe again ( even though it is exactly the same version I am already using, 'because it sometimes helps') Tried it anyway but not surprisingly it still didn't work and ended up having to apply for a refund for the postage I had paid for but could not print.
So, why do they not put a heads up on the online postage page to say that there is a problem? and more to the pont, why don't they make any sort of effort to actually resolve the problem and get the site working correctly again?

Try the free Foxit reader http://www.foxitsoftware.com/downloads/
I personally prefer it to Adobe.0 -

I personally prefer it to Adobe.
I agree with the suggestion to use Foxit above adobe, however there are some occasions when adobe is the only reader that will offer full functionality (eg completing some official forms), and the last two occasions I allowed Foxit to upgrade itself it installed the ask toolbar, which to me is no better than a virus.0 -

Whenever you hear the words, "Try re-installing..." you know the person on the end of the line doesn't have a clue.
"Hmm, interesting one. Try re-installing - "
"Let me stop you there. Can you transfer me to someone who knows what they're talking about please."0 -
Ok, really confused now.
I have installed Foxit reader and it is set as my default PDF programme.
After doing this I went back in to the Royal mail website and when I click on the 'Open sample print as PDF' is doesn't open Foxit but it displays the sample in a Firefox browser window.
I then uninstalled Adobe to make sure and still the same - Foxit doesn't open the sample print just Firefox (all my existing PDF files have converted to Foxit btw)
Any suggestions please?0 -
Ok,
Sorted I think. The problem was not an Adobe update but the fact that Firefox has added a plug in called PDS.js viewer.
I have now disabled this and everything looks ok again ( fingers crossed)0
