Baggage allowance / cost ?

Am taking my wife to Paris in July for a special birthday.Have booked 2 return flights with Flybe but , having not flown for a few Years am not sure about baggage allowance.I have bought one of those small cases that says they are the dimensions suitable for hand luggage.I dont think my wife would able to get all of her things in the same size case.I think she will need a larger suitcase.Have received our e-tickets but not too sure the full meaning of the baggage allowance.Would I be able to pay now for the larger case to get it checked in or should I leave it till we get there on the day ?
Sorry if this is sounding a bit basic but all of my previous flights I've justchecked in a suitcase and carry my hand luggage onboard.
Thanks:money:

If you bought the cheapest option with Flybe you will not have a checked luggage allowance. You can add this on their website, just click the 'Book Bags' link on the top of the page.
Do make sure that your carry-on is within allowed dimensions. Different airlines allow different sizes and the airline won't care that you were told your case was suitable for carry-on if it's bigger than what you are allowed. To complicate matters, some Flybe flights are operated by other carriers in which case their regulations would apply.0 -

Thought was booking a simple flight with Air France , but e-tickets says its Flybe and all of the paperwork etc is through Alpharooms.
Am thinking of packing my small case and driving out to EMA to check if it does fit in the rack/cage.

If you booked with Air France you both have a checked luggage allowance, even if the operating carrier is Flybe. All the relevant info should be on your booking confirmation. Since you booked with a 3rd party I'd check to make sure though.0

Well, that settles it then though I don't understand why your paperwork would be with Alpharooms if you booked on the AF website. Surely your confirmation email is from Air France?0

As far as I remember I booked the flight from the Air France website. Not sure where Alpharooms came into it.Have emailed them to find out exactly what it is they do as regards to Air France. The truth shall set you free.....................0

I have found that several of the low cost carriers have smaller baggage lockers for hand baggage than the bigger carriers like BA. This could be down to the type of aircraft (I don't know very much about planes) but I am aware of several people who have got caught out because the baggage dimensions are smaller.
Check your carrier and then go onto their website and find the baggage dimensions page.0 -
