anyone got a mamas and papas freestyler?

i've been looking for a new pram, little roo isn't comfortable enough in his techno (he's too heavy really, the steering is all wrong and the seat depth isn't right) and i'd like something he can sleep in if we're at a theme park etc.
freestyler looks quite big but none of the sellers on ebay have got back to me with measurements, it seems they are all storing them elsewhere or they're wrapped up for posting already. can't find it on the mamas and papas website - have they stopped selling it?
i really need to know the height of the back-rest, and the depth of the seat (not including legrest).
if anyone has one please please measure it and let me know.
other suggestions are welcome - but he's a big baby and already weighs over 15kg and is 93cm tall (and his legs are short, so that's a really looooong baby needing a very high backrest on a buggy!).
i know all suitable prams will be the size of a tractor - that's fine. i can use the techno for short trips, or on buses etc. if he doesn't need to sleep while we're out. and sometimes he just walks. but he's under 2 so i imagine i'll need a tractor for quite a while yet, and there's no sign of him giving up his daytime nap yet. ebay sellers all tell me it lasted their child up to the age of 4 but that's no use to me without knowing if their child was a giraffe like mine. i have tried a mutsy and can't push or steer it. bought a 2nd hand graco but the backrest is really short!
please help me avoid another buying mistake - there's nowhere really to view prams locally.

i have a mama and papa ARIA buggy. i am on second child and shes 2 its a really good buggy and would highly recrommend it . lots of room in the seat lys back for sleeping. it also fold up really small for in the car on the bus etc.
its hard to get a good buggy i have made mistakes but not with this one. think i paid about 130 pounds for it . but i am pretty sure its in the argos book complete with all accessories for 99 pounds.
its also very light and has a shopping basket underneath. if i were to need another one i would buy this again. hope this helps sorry i have not seen the freestyler so dont know if it like the ARIA.Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, champagne in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming ~ WOO HOO what a ride!0 -
I have to disagree i really didnt like the aria, and i am a big fan of all other M&P products
my son wasnt particularly huge for his age but he wasnt comfy it the Aria at all ! theres only upright or lying down and no leg rest so he tended to "slip" down when sleeping
yes its compact ( can be taken on planes as hand luggage lol) but its not very sturdy which i think you need and also quite low down to push
the freestyler is a good one, chunky like the MPX chassis prams, but fab IMO0 -
i think i looked at the mpx in the co-op last week, is it a 3 wheeler? i saw a maclaren mx3 yesterday too but i didn't have a tape measure on me, and there was a child sitting in it :rotfl:
i can't remember the reason but i already ruled the aria out. maybe it was the seat depth. i was all set to buy a pulse stroller as suggested by gingham and lots of other people on a different thread but they must have changed them - the seat was really shallow and he just hated it! he's not fat but he's solidly built and has a size 6 nappy. most buggy seats just domn't seem deep enough for his bottom.
i never had this fuss with my eldest, he was a tiny child and a graco suited him right up to school age'bad mothers club' member 13

No,the MPX is just a style of chassis eg http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Mamas-Papas-MPX-Chassis_W0QQitemZ320111719674QQihZ011QQcategoryZ66700QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
very similar to the frame of a freestyler0 -
My son turned 2 in February, weighs over 18kg and is 95cm tall (well he was 2 months ago
). Anyhow, he's far too heavy in the Maclaren Quest, but i was given a 2nd hand M&P pliko by a friend of mine and its fab
He has plenty of room in it, he can only *just* stretch down to rest his feet on the wheels (unlike with the Quest where thats where his feet naturally rest!), its far easier to push and move around plus its umbrella folding.
I used to have a freestyler for my eldest (sold it though) but from memory its the same size seat/height etc etc as the Pliko only not umbrella folding.
HTHSlightly worn out mum to 3 (DS1 May 03, DS2 Feb 05, DD1 Feb 08). When i grow up i think i'll become a UN Peace keeper....0 -
Hi ,
Just got this from another site , these are the dimensions for the A3 but it is quite similar in style and looks etc so this is a rough idea , Height 107 cm x Width 55cm x Depth 38cm
I have got one , but am just shooting out but will measure it all up for you when I get back later on , it is lovely and big , bought mine of Ebay as it was the Paul Smith Optic design , it is now discontinued and can fetch good money sometimes ! :rotfl:Baby Thomas born 3 months early by emergency section on 21/1/09 weighing 1lb 15ozs .
Thomas came home after 3 months and 2 days in hospital weighing 5lb 15ozs
Thomas weighed 21lb 4ozs on his 1st birthday , a total weight gain of 18lbs 5ozs !
