Spring cleaning products: own brands and offers ?

Today I've made a list of stuff in the undersink cleaning cupboard and I need a few things. Looked in the Lidl leaflet for Thursday and nothing
Anyone have any own brand recommendations that work ie I won't have to use twice as much OR know of any offers anywhere please ? Bathroom cleaner, stainless steel cleaner, spray polish or similar for Venetian blinds.
If you are looking out for stuff this spring, please feel free to add it on the thread. Hopefully this thread will help us all get stuff cheaper which works and get through spring cleaning faster

I'm not too sure about prices etc but I get a lot of cleaning products from Wilkinson. They have cheap branded and own brand products for almost every cleaning task.0

Star drops!
There is a massive thread on here somewhere......0 -
I buy basic cleaning products, the way i look at it, they mostly etiher go down the drain or you can find cheaper alternatives. I buy bleach, white vinegar, value furniture polish, washing up liquid, wash up pads, anti-bac hand gel. Every couple of months i buy anti-bac floor wipes, which i double up as surface wipes (on 3 for £2 at Mr. T atm) and even less rarely i buy window cleaner, which seems to last forever.0

It depends how much you're willing to order (and how much you want to spend ...) but you can get good deals on eco cleaning stuff from Big Green Smile.
I am a huge fan of the Method stuff which is often on offer - it's just been on offer at Sainsbury's so I stocked up, but I think Ocado have got a bundle deal at the moment with £1 off eight products. I can highly recommend the stainless steel cleaner, eucalyptus bathroom cleaner, mint window cleaner, touch wood polish and the wood floor cleaner (they smell gorgeous, like marzipan). I will add that I use these sparingly so that I can justify the price, and also use some really cheap stuff too. I love Zoflora, for example, and use a lot of bicarb (99p for a 1lb box of Arm and Hammer at the 99p shop), and I like the Astonish paste cleaners for dirty jobs (again you can pick these up for 99p). The oven one works really well and is a bit less scary than Oven Pride. I get microfibre cloths etc from Wilkos, and I've invested in microfibre mop with washable pads - I think that was Lakeland - which is great for the wood floors. I also like Sainsbury's basics green scrubbies (I think they're about 17p for five) and disposible cloths. I cut these in half so I get twice as many, as I tend to only use these for loos etc.
If you do like eco cleaning stuff then I can also recommend Earth Friendly's Parsley Plus cleaner. I use this in my kitchen and it smells lovely, just like fresh herbs.0 -
Callie - you & I must have been separated at birth
I, too, use Astonish paste - good for the oven glass door also.
I use Zoflora, good for rinsing the wheelie bin.
I love Parsley Plus cleaner & Method eucalyptus bathroom stuff & although I don't normally use a ready-made cleaner on the windows, I did try their mint cleaner as it was on offer - a little goes a long way.
I use a lot of bicarb & white vinegar & I chop my cloths & scrubbers in at least half.
And I also invested in microfibre mop with washable pads which I picked up in M&S in the grocery section.
Someone told me that they wipe their venetian blinds & their blinds with long fabric slats (can't think of what they're called!) in a cloth wrung out in very hot water. Then when dry, they wipe over another cloth that has been wrung out from a solution of hot water with a little fabric softener - they said that it helps repel the dust. i've yet to try it though!0 -
Zoflora, Barkeepers friend and Soda crystals here too! Plus whatever the cheapest bleach I can find is (Usually Wilkinsons!) I can tackle most jobs with these 4 little wonders and a scrubbing brush and cloths!Everyone has a dark side... apparently mine is called Harold?!? :huh:0

Ooh excellent, I love the idea of a kitchen smelling of parsley as I grow herbs in my garden
Thank you all so much.
I'm doing an Ocado order today as well0 -
I always keep lemons and bicarb... I sprinkle bi-carb then squirt the lemon juice at it. Works best on my pyrex dishes.
Cleaning products make me choke but am gonna check out the method cleaning range tomorrow, thanks!0
