Nationwide Overdrafts

I've had a bit of a search and haven't been able to find anything, so apologies if this has already been asked!

I was just wondering if anyone had any experience of whether or not Nationwide credit search existing customers when adding an overdraft to an existing Flexaccount?

I know Natwest/RBS don't, but any other current account I've had an OD with I've just added when opening the account, so it would have been in the original search!

I recently had this facility added to my NW account and according to three agencies I have access to no search is showing. They may not have bothered because we have had mortgage with them for about 17 years and saving accounts.

Thanks, my mortgage is with them, as is the bulk of my savings, so maybe they won't then.

To be fair I don't really need the facility, so probably won't bother applying just in case, but it's good to know either way I suppose. Just made me think, as I had a "Did you know?" pop up on the left of online banking relating to overdrafts!

I increased my own NW overdraft limit a couple of times last year via my online account and non of them did a credit search, I check my credit report a lot throughout the year so i'm always on top of searches and things going wrong lol. So no, they do not do a credit search when you want to increase your overdraft

if you've had something like that pop up I'd imagine it's pre-approved, so they may not bother.

I know when I have amended my credit limit on my credit card it's shown me the pre-approved and then let me request up to that. It says they will do a check, but I've certainly never had one with Equifax for either the card or the current account.

Experian may be searched (I think that's who they use to be fair) but I'm fairly sure they haven't been searching me, I've upped my limit loads and still been accepted for other products etc elsewhere - would look far too desperate if they were searching me each time! Also sure I've had my Experian report since I signed up to n/w and don't remember seeing any searches from them.
