Anyway, if someone lives in a part of the country where jobs are non-existent there has to be a way of folks "getting on their bikes", staying off benefits and earning their own living. Unless you think that everyone unemployed in places like Burnley or Oldham should just stay there and fester. In your eyes it seems like they may be damned if they do, and damned if they don't.
Er, not really, I suggest you re-read my post.
I'm all for people showing a bit of initiative.0 -

Err,
I lived in Burnley. Getting a job was easy, I just caught the train (of which there are plenty of them around Burnley) to somewhere. Easy.
People in Burnley don't want to work, and give any old rubbish excuse. I lived amongst them for several years and I know what they are like, the general population don't give a rats !!! about anything. And thats why I left.
And nobody is saying that he has to stop where he grew up. They are just saying that the normal way to do things, if you want to move to a new area, is to have a reason to move there in the first place. Whether thats because you are moving in with somebody you know, or because you have a job there. You don't just put a pin in a map, move half the way across the country then hope for the best. If the OP put as much effort into finding a job as he (I'm assuming its a he, haven't checked!) did with these hairbrained schemes, then he would be much better off.
The ops previous posts show continuously bad pie in the sky judgement, to the point of potentially being a troll. It is either that, or they need to do some serious growing up.0 -
When I moved, I went into a cheapo hotel, then from there found a flatshare, then another... before getting a job and a place (well, garage) to live in ... renting a whole flat and arriving is a little bit posh.BitterAndTwisted wrote: »

Lol no gripe but wanted to add, im from rossendale (right next to burnley) and moved down south five years ago. Once here i struggled with housing, but not employment. So i did research. Burnley is the only place in england that has more social housing available compared to waiting list!!!! Crazy!!! Top footie team though lol x (up the clarets!!!!) XxxThe feeling i got when i confirmed my place studying criminology at Exeter Uni was brilliant!!!!!
The pride my children told me they had in me was even better!!!!! # setting positive example to children is OUTSTANDING!!!! !:grouphug::grouphug::smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea0
