Investment Trusts - Regular Savings

Hi,
I have been investing in funds, and now wish to include some investment trusts in my portfolio as they usually out perform funds.
My only concern is that the charge of investing in trusts is £12, but free for funds. As I invest £50 / month in each fund - i dont think its really worth it for me unless im investing a lump sum
Is there any cheaper way i can expose myself to investment trusts without the heavy dealing fee? (from Hargreaves Lansdown)
Thanks

With Investment Trusts unlike Unit Trusts/Funds, going direct to the companies is the low-cost option. Most of the large companies offering ITs have low cost savings plans/schemes which allow lump sum and regular (monthly) investments at nil or pretty low cost. I have used such plans/schemes from the likes of Invesco Perpetual, Aberdeen, Templeton and RIT to build up a portfolio of IT for my daughter at low cost. Details can be found on the companies websites.0

Thanks, I will look into that - would be unfortunate that if i go to each individual company direct i wouldnt be able to keep it within an ISA as im only allowed one ISA. I guess its better than paying £12 each time i invest.
Thanks for your advice.0 -

Try Alliance Trust Savings - they let you invest in their own Trust and lots of others too. I'm no fan of their website, mind, but we've been customers for twenty-odd years.Free the dunston one next time too.0 -

Thank you - Ive just had a look at their website I cant seem to find their pricing - how much do you pay per deal?

Maybe consider moving to Sippdeal to take advantage of their option to purchase for £1.50

Even at this rate, it will not be economical to buy in tranches of £50pm0 -

I suggest you start a new thread with this enquiry - I don't think many people will stumble over it here.Free the dunston one next time too.0 -
