Broken phone contract free gift tv

Actually, when I last looked at these deals they were more expensive than a regular contract and prices varied according to the "gift" you choose. So not only are they an integral part of any contract but they are goods that you are paying through the nose for.
Read the post above - they're not an integral part of the contract.
I used to work for a retailer with these deals, and can 100% say unless you're going to bring court action you won't get anywhere with the retailer themselves.0 -
Have another read of the quote in post #10.mattyprice4004 wrote: »Read the post above - they're not an integral part of the contract.

and for me theres a big stumbling point
if someone paid cash for a cheap TV,then 15 months goes a long way into its life expectancy
no we are into a 'free' TV and reasonable time0 -
The TV is part of the contract. As to what a reasonable length of time is for a TV to last, who knows.....I would be very nice about this when you contact CFW, you may then get what you want (a repair maybe?)0

Spoke to carphone Warehouse today and they said after 28 days its the resposibility of the manufacturer,so Toshiba here we come,i'm not expecting to get anything as the factors of the situation aren't exactly in my favour,so i'm going in really without any ammo so to speak.0

And where (in this contract) is the TV stipulated? The contract is explicit, and as an inducement at no cost is an impossibility to imply any ongoing responsibility.
CW's reaction is typical - but what you'd you expect? The manufacturer has no obligation, just the remote possibility of goodwill. It sounds better than 'push off - what do you want for free?'0 -
Again, read post 10One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0

The Op could only have a free tv if he/she signed up to a contract.
Not much else to be said, is there?0 -
Well guys, certainly a difference of opinions going on here.I appreciate all your replies and its made for interesting reading. Will give Toshiba a ring tomorrow, like i said earlier not expecting to get anything but hey,if you don't ask you don't get.I dont expect to get a replacement tv,if they offer a repair thats great,if they don't offer me anything i'll just buy a new tv,it just won't be a Toshiba. You know how it goes-some you win, some you lose, its all experience i guess.0
