Doing a quick search, the 1st listed item is this;
http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/x,carcode,3008146,parttype,10070,a,uk.search.yahoo.com%2BSearch%2Bfor%2B2005%2BNISSAN
No wonder they don't do the ball joint covers seperate - these are a steal! £8 for a balljoint?!
I don't believe that Nissan told you that they don't sell parts for their cars.

it's not the trackrod balljoints that need replacing.0 -

Nissan may well not supply the joint on it's own, or even the covers.0 -

A little more than Rockauto but then you won't have to pay postage from the USA.
Any independant garage will be able to supply and fit but this gives you an idea of what they should be charging for the parts.
I've not heard of the ball joint covers being sold seperately, most these days are sealed, pregreased, units.0 -

Can I ask if you are mentally deranged? You will say their rubber covers? But as the rubber covers have degraded, and a WHOLE NEW UNIT COSTS LESS THAN £10 UK, where is this US thing coming in?
ANY Autospare shop, dealer, garage can supply these for you, for less than a tenner, as you was origionally told.
Add on labour for fitting, maybe £100 all in, as best for the garage to supply them, as they get trade prices, you don't.
I don't understand OT comments by the newly escaped from the asylum to throw a wideball. If you prefer to hear this maniacs post, then I withdraw mine. Thanks for the non thanks.0 -

i would be very worried if he was changing the trackrod ball joints & taking it back for a retest. if i understand it right"nearside front lower ball joint dust cover excessively damaged so that it no longer prevents the ingress of dirt"
he needs to order new lower arm ball joint & one bit of advice, if you are not using a brand name that you know do some research about the product, just because it says OEM doesn't make it top quality product.0 -
Just a little joke Ratboy, Rockauto are based in the USA (hence the
).

The Op stated that they had made EXTENSIVE WEB searches.
I do one, this is the first item to appear, listed in £££ not $$$, no no critism please!
The part costs less than £10, and is available in any car parts shop, Halfords etc, or a dealer, but the Op lies, or has not done the research they claim, so don't flame me for the correct information that I have given, try the search yourself!
Limey - It doesn't matter where the produce is sourced, but the availability to the consumer.
The fact is that the product costs less than £10, and the OP is confused. Not the 7 rule forum rule. Anything after 7 posts becomes abuse or useless.0 -
£10 for the part and £30 shipping.

A new joint is only £20. Why bother fitting a £10 rubber to a possibly worn joint when its just as easy to fit a new one?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
