VENT: Beko tumble drier and British Gas

My Beko TD is subject to a recall notice. Phoned them 6 weeks ago to arrange engineer's visit. Heard nothing. Phoned after 10 days 'we're very busy' - em yes, cos you made a faulty product. They agreed to get British Gas to fix.

First appointment - cancelled on the day as they didn't have a part.

Second appointment - made for Thurs last week but reminder text message said Weds. They confirmed booked for Weds which I had definitely not arranged as I knew I wouldn't be there.

Third appointment - for next Weds AM. Specified that as I need to be elsewhere PM. Message to ring them on Friday, did so, they can only make afternoon as all engineers are in a meeting in the morning.

Rang Beko head office and spoke to someone in Director's office. Promised an engineer would call me to arrange. In the words of Diana Ross, I'm still waiting.......

Now 6 weeks with no tumble drier. Oh, and it's winter.......

I wasn't that bothered by the initial recall - stuff happens. It's the way it's been handled which has annoyed me. Won't be buying Beko ever again!

Doesn't sound promising, where did you buy it? After 6 weeks and a shambles with repair appointments I'd be telling the retailer to refund my money and collect the dryer - prior to asking my c/c company to reverse the transaction if they refuse!
Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.

Thanks for this...... I think :D. Haven't paid for it as it was from Very - cheapest price and nothing to pay for 9 months. Shame, as ccard would have been useful. Really hacked off as all I want is the tumble drier fixed - I was actually really pleased with it!
