Thanks Amersall x :T:T:T:T
I have copied the draft you done for me and put it into a letter to EPF so tomorrow I will get it printed off in work and took to the post office and send it recorded delivery. I have 2 contact details for EPF 1 is West Parade Birmingham and the other cc for HFC Bank in Coventry so I will send a copy to both addresses.
I have also drafted letters to the 2 HSBC accounts and 1 to Alliance and Leicester which i will post this week.

Can someone please explain whether I need to send a copy of the consumer questionnaire with a covering letter and copies of my loan agreements or just a letter and loan agreements as I am getting different people telling me different things and I am so confused!!
When my brother got his ppi back all he done was ring up his bank and they sorted it over the phone but my claims are not that straightforward. So people are saying just send a letter and loan forms then if you get refused then send the consumer questionnaire!!
Please help!:eek:0 -
Send the questionnaire, it's the agreed form for use by all financial institutions and you can't go wrong using it by default. It's also useful if you end up referring your complaint to the Ombudsman.0

Hi All - This will probably be my first and last post! Just to say a big thanks to Martin Lewis, the templates on this website and the FSO. With their help I received a letter today from MBNA agreeing to pay back to me nine thousand, eight hundred and fifty one pounds. This was for a credit card taken out in 1996. Never give up! This has taken me almost a year and a half from start to finish. It cost me only the price of a few stamps and a couple of phone calls. I want to warn people that they can do this on their own, and no-one needs to pay a company who will claw back a third of the payout for doing nothing that you can't do yourself. Hope this will help you all.tillymint22 wrote: »Hi all :hello:
I'm sorry if im posting this in the wrong place but its my first post so im a newbie and i would like to share my news that I am in the process of claiming back PPI from 4 separate companies.
I have been de-cluttering my bedroom and found an old lever arch file with all my old loan agreements in and upon further reading i noticed i had PPI. My OH laughs at me an calls me a hoarder but i have every single credit agreement and letter from when the loans were taken out. So I have spent the last hour going through the claim questionnaires for each one. However, its not that straightforward as 2 are from 2004 and 2 from 2005. 2 are HSBC personal loans, 1 Alliance and Leicester loan and 1 from Endeavour Personal Finance. All were paid off after a few years once i had re-mortgaged.
Since paying them off I got into financial difficulties and have been on a Debt Management Plan since 2006. So as they are over 6 years old I am not holding out much hope of getting anything back but hey ho I have nothing to lose and all the paperwork to prove it. I have also sat on MSE and trawled through all the positive success stories of people who have got refunds which has spurred me on even more.
If i am successful with my claim i will use it to pay off my DMP.
So Fingers Tightly Crossed eh folks
Just to add that with the HSBC loans we were under the impression that it would help approve our loan if we had PPI cover and we were never told it was optional. The EPF we were told we needed to take to PPI out as it was a big loan and the A & L i dont even remember to agreeing to it as it was all done online.0 -
Hi All
Just a quick update on my claims from my OP.
HSBC have sent a letter to say they are investigating my claim and will get back to me within 8 weeks.
Alliance and Leicester - I received a letter from Santander today and as I only paid 4 months PPI (£72) because I paid it back early they are offering £371.
Endeavour Personal Finance sent me this letter (sorry i cant scan so will type the relevant contents)
We are aware your complaint is regarding the PPI purchased at the time of completing your loan through EPF.
You will recall that you approached a credit broker, Norton Finance, who acted as your agent and sold your PPI policy.
At no time was Norton Finance an agent of EPF Ltd and nor was Norton Finance an Appointed Representative of EPF Ltd. EPF Ltd has therefore no liability in respect of anything alleged to have been done or not done by Norton Finance. Accordingly we must reject your claim that EPF Ltd has any liability for the actions allegedly taken or not taken by Norton Finance.
So can someone please advise me as I have read on a forum that Norton Finance has ceased trading or gone into liquidation. Have I lost out on this PPI claim or does anyone have an address where I can forward my consumer questionnaire and claim letter to.
Thanking you in advance

If it was before January 2005, you've had it, if it was after January 2005, you use the FSCS who will only refund the PPI not the interest.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0
