Holiday insurance

My gran is in ill health and I am aware every moment I have is special. I wish to take her on holiday this year, where we can meet with her GGC she has only seen on Skype. Insurance is proving hard, does anyone know of companies who do insurance for those with disabilities?
Last year I paid £1400 for 2 weeks in Spain but for the Caribbean I am looking at higher premiums, surely there are companies that cater for disabilities. Advice grateful

I had a couple of weeks in Rhodes in October and used Fish Insurance
I have, like a lot of people on here, a list of complications as long as your arm. Greece is particularly expensive and I only paid £210. Christmas in Jamaica in 2011-12 only cost £370. I cannot imagine having to pay £1400, especially when there are specialist pre-condition insurers out there.
Check my link, or google "travel insurance with pre-conditions" and see what it brings up.0 -
I have tried most of those firms, not Fish though so will ring tomorrow. It's because she has had 12 A&E admissions in the last 6 months they seem to put really high prices on it.
I will keep trying and hopefully find one that can at least lower the prices!0 -

Yes they load the premiums if you have been in hospital within the past 12 months and/or if you are waiting for or need further hospitalisation.
Quite a lot of companies will not even bother to quote for these type of cases.
My aunt, and yes she was crazy, travelled back from Australia for a reunion of all of her family as she didn't have long to live. She travelled alone at age 84 and without any insurance whatsoever.
She became ill after a few weeks, was treated by a GP and the NHS and just about managed to get back home to Adelaide before she died 7 weeks later.
Fortunately, we have a fantastic free health system here in the UK that made sure that she was fit to make the return journey. No other country would be as obliging!
Personally I wouldn't step from the UK shores without full and comprehensive insurance. I can't get it unless I pay a very large premium. So, I holiday here in the UK in my touring caravan and have no pressing need to see anywhere else. France and Spain were enough for me, lousy food, poor service and couldn't understand a word they spoke.0
