If I was doing it again, I would. However I would probably be more careful after graduation, move back home for a bit, and treat Lloyds TSB with kid gloves as the last 5.5 years with a Default on file have limited my choices in terms of credit, car, only being able to rent (the credit checks for renting don't care about the default btw).
What i did was to work over the summer so i could get at least some of it paid off each year so by the time i left i didn't have a huge debt to manage.
I wouldn't have been able to cope without having the credit available thou, even if it tried to scrape by on the bare minimum.
But i spent more than i needed to by going out all the time, but it was worth it and if i was doing it again i wouldn't do it any differently0 -

I did summer jobs, cleaning soot out of industrial boilers, working 12 hour shifts in a kitchen.
I had 2 part time jobs during term time too. Ironically it was probably the time spent earning money and not studying that led me to a lower degree classification than I was aiming for, that led me to a low paying graduate job that got me into real difficulties....
Budget, get a part time job for beer tokens, but never take your eye off the ball - you are there to get a degree, most graduate programmes need at least a 2.1.0
