housing benefit what a storie!!

hey lets start from the top in october last yr i started a new job my contract hours where 16 but iv have been doing 20 i took all the pay slips down to them my tax credits every thing after waiting 6 months for them to look at my claim!! (they were still paying me based on me working 24 hrs and my child care bn 78 a wkk , which in fact had gone up to 105!) i got a ltter off them this morning sayin i owe them 126 pounds but they owe me 60?? i was recieving 55 towards my rent im now getting 67 but they are going to deduct 22 pounds a week off me! they have not sent me a break down or any thing ive rang them up they said its in the post! i dont understand ho i can owe them monye iwas doing 24 hr befoe ive never gone over my perivous wage so how can this happpen im so confused! they have awarded me 83pence a month toward my council tax!! what a joke! ive got in touch with welfare right is there any one eles i could get in touch with this is so wrong!! thanksx

is this a housing benefit overpayment ? if you dont agree with it put in for an appeal, in the meantime you can always visit the CAB and they will calculate how much you should have got.

Go to the CAB for some help.

if the Housing Benefit section within your council, has been contracted out to Liberata, then you are just one of thousands trying to sort out their ineptitude - they always foul it up.:mad:

Im just waiting for welfare rites to get in touch with me. hopefully they will expalin it more to me . no letter off them this moring still waiting .........................
