Rental ad, property taken as seen?

Looking at an ad for a property to rent it says:

"PLEASE NOTE; The property is taken as seen unless special arrangements have been agreed in writing between landlord, tenant and agent."

Does anyone know what that means? I've not seen it before ...

It means there is something wrong with it which is not apparent to the eye at first & it is one to avoid.

Yup. Sounds like an attempt to weasel out of his/her responsibilities.

You need to check the meaning.

I suspect it means that property comes with furnishings/decorations as seen in the property and you can't ask for more.

Anything else would be an attempt to break lots of laws.
    I'm not cynical I'm realistic :p

    I agree with Olly.

I think what they were trying to say in the advert is that the furniture/decor is staying, and not that if the roof falls in it's your fault for not checking!

Might be worthwhile if you can get the LL to agree that "Rent is taken as paid unless special arrangements are made between the Landlord and Tenant".
