Account settings can be exported and imported, in to tools, accounts select the account and click export.
message rules no they can't
folder structure yes but only as part of importing the messages. the easiest way is to copy the message store and import it in to the new PC. the easiest way to find the message store is to right click on the inbox folder, click properties and copy the path that will be displayed. click start run then put a " paste the path, delete the inbox.dbx then finish with a " and hit the ok button. in there you will see a file for each folder you have in outlook express. go up a folder and copy the outlook express folder to where ever you want.
message rules they still cant be exported and imported.
hey dont forget you can also export your address book, using the import export section under file that is also the place you go to import your message folders and address book, themail account is imported from the account screen you exported from eariler.
If you decide to use another mail client then you will need to import everything to outlook express and then install your new mail client the new client will have a migration feature to your new client.0 -
Has anyone used this? Is it any good?
Can I export all the settings EXCLUDING the messages themselves (which I will archive)
IS it easy to import/restore on a new mail client?0 -
outlook express has most of the features for free so why pay for software to do it?
As for importing the outlook express backup in to another client I would doubt it would work, you would have to import in to OE then "upgrade" to another client.0
