I've just got a wicked quote from barclays for their home insurance, compared against insuresupermarket it was the cheapest (doesn't appear on insuresupermarket). I stumbled across it on their site when I was doing some shopping around, a little known gem! They're also offering a year's free emergency cover plan.

I'm a bit wary of this one, because as per my post yesteday, I cannot understand how the policy price is the same for Standard Cover and Standard Plus. What is the point of having two levels of cover at the same cost?0

As I stated to you previously, I got and still do get a different quote when selecting the different levels of cover. Maybe you live in a lower risk postcode or something like that, you're perhaps just an anomaly (without wanting to sound rude).
I'm delighted with my quote.0 -
Maybe so, but they should explain that.0

I don't think standard plus is for upstairs, it's just a higher level of cover - particularly for accidental damage. It seems worth taking as it doesn't increase your policy too much!!0

I rang them and they said that because of my mature years, I would get Standard Plus Cover for the same price as Standard Plus. So there are advantages in being a "wrinkly"!!!0

Thank you. I've saved myself £15 a month by changing to Barclays.0

Nice to hear that my tips helping people save money! I switched to Barclays half way through my policy and they paid the £25 penalty that my previous insurer charged for leaving them half way through my policy, so really you can switch at any point in time.0

just to warn everyone i just did there online quote i'm with barclays already i was just checking how much they'd say online and it was more than double what i actually pay so it might be cheaper to ring up and speak to someone rather than doing it onlineOther women want a boob job. Honey the only silicone i'm interested in is on a 12 cup muffin tray, preferably shaped like little hearts

Maybe you can still cancel.I thought that you have a 14 day cooling off period.I think by linking them both together ie from the day you ask them for a quote, you may save even more0
