Is your boiler set to 'max' temperature??

Hi Ruski, Yes, at least it was. I'll double check it, cheers Lesley

I deal with these boilers all the time - Sadly there was a whole estate in our area that had them installed, they are a bloody nightmare!

Its strange in that some properties seemingly have no problems yet others (majority!) have a never ending series of faults that constantly occur. Some engineers in our area won't touch them, the last time we tried to use the manufacturers engineers it was a 3 week waiting time (so not practical with a house with no heating or hot water working!)

My advise if you've had a series of problems would be to bite the bullet and swap to a conventional tank.

The Boilermate is a thermal store. It isn't a boiler. Oh sorry - just noticed the pun "I DEAL with...." Sorry.

    Cheers

hot/cold water is 90% of the time the 2 sensors playing up.

If they are really knackered it will show up in the diagnostic settings as an 'Er' code.

Usually only one sensor is at fault, but as they are so unreliable I change them as a pair, as the biggest part of the cost is the draining etc.

If someone has just ripped the old ones out rather than replacing wire for wire, then chances are the new ones will be wired wrong.

When wire wrong, they can appear to work ok until a scenario occurs that will show up the fault.

    Thanks gas4you.
Those diagnostic tests have never shown anything wrong, I've swapped the sensors twice - always the pair as that's what is recommended. I just bought them myself and 2 different plumbers have fitted, as you said the system needed to be drained to fit.
I think the system just was never fit for purpose, fitted by wimpey as they got them cheap - but that's just a personal opinion, I just want consistent hot water. I've just spent too much money unsuccessfully trying to fix to have any enthusiasm to try again.
