uneven tyre wear

Hi
One of my tyres (front left) had worn out on the outer edge of the tyre to bare minimum whilst the rest of the tyre looked brand new...i replaced it last week and looked at the tyre today and i can see a faded line all the way round the exact same place, so im assuming that this tyre will end up the same.
im thinking of getting a tracking done but need to know if this will resolve the issue as im under the impression that if tracking is the issue, then BOTH front tyres should have unven tyre wear on the outer edge?
also, reading on reasons for outer edge wear, ive come accross the following " excessive positive or negative camber if wear is shown on one side" ...which it is. will a tracking resolve the camber issue?
my car is a volvo s40 53 plate...if its due to under inflation, then again, wont both tyres be the same as the psi is the same in both tyres?
Thanks

I must admit that from what I have read, a centre which offers 4 wheel alignment is the best option.
If I was the OP I would get it done ASAP, because the new tyre will wear out in no time.0 -
It's not underinflation or both edges of the same tyre would be worn. Get the tracking done properly, some lazy sod probably, "adjusted" it on one side only causing your problem.0

Not just tracking but front wheel alignment which includes suspension and steering geometry. You scullion! You rampallian! You fustilarian! I’ll tickle your catastrophe (Henry IV part 2)0

Not as expensive as having to keep on buying new tyres.
(The checks should not cost a lot.)I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -
Don't just get 'tracking' done. This is a useless cop-out which often causes more problems than it solves. You need 4 wheel alignment, much of the geometry is effected by the rear axle, just because the steering is controlled by the front wheels the rear axle can still cause pulling, poor handling and tyre wear. Also tracking will not check camber (too much positive camber will wear the outer edge of the tyre), it will only check toe. While you have fresh tyres fitted now is the perfect time to have your vehicle aligned, trust me if its done properly your car will drive like brand new. Well worth the extra money.0
