Concert no longer exists but Ticketmaster won't refund

Hi, I am so unhappy. As soon as booking opened for a much anticipated Dexys gig scheduled for April 26 I booked two tickets from Ticketmaster and a non refundable Premier Inn hotel in London. However, when I look back to check I see the gig has been removed from all listings, and Ticketmaster say they haven't been told the gig is cancelled and won't return my money (a few quid short of £100). So I have lost in the region of £200, only blessing is I hadn't already bought my train tickets. Gutted, and poor

check with the venue if the event has been cancelled or rescheduled and then send ticketmaster a letter before action requesting a refund.
Dexy's might also have a website with information - take a screenshot if so, and save a copy.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Thanks for you replies and help, the gig just appears to have disappeared, it was one in a run of dates, and the date just vanished from the listings after I had ordered my tickets. Which I guess is partly why this is in dispute, however I will keep trying.0

If you phone them ask them if they would confirm the cancellation by email, if indeed it has been cancelled. Then you can forward a copy of the email to ticketmaster in support of your request for a refund. If theySTILL refuse to refund then as I said, send a letter before action.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

If TM have sold you a ticket to a specific gig, which I imagine they did by taking your booking, and then it is cancelled, before they send out the tickets, then of course they have to refund you. Gigs are cancelled all the time. But gigs are also frequently rescheduled and I imagine TM are waiting to hear from the promoter if this particular one has been rescheduled. At some stage TM have to tell you it has been cancelled and refund your money or tell you it has been rescheduled. Can take a couple of weeks.0

Is it in your ticketmaster bookings in my ticketmaster? If it is then I would think TM put this date up in error as looking on the bands facebook site and web page there is no gig on 25/ 26 April and the poster advertising the event on their FB site does not give this as a date. I would email and ring again and point them in the direction on the offical site and request a refund.

All of which is good advice, thank you. I am slightly hindered by the theatre not having a direct email, only a link to an alternative agent, who I have emailed and have replied that they are unable to help.
However, I will be taking all the advice, screen grabs etc, thanks all.0 -
I can find evidence on other promoters websites that tickets were advertised for Friday 26th - this must have been an error. It wasn't cancelled as it was never scheduled in the first place.
Get on the Dexys facebook page and band website and tell the band about how you are being treated by Ticketmaster.0 -

If the event never existed then there will be no tickets for the event. In which case ticketmaster will not be able to send you a ticket and they will refund.
If the event has been cancelled or the date changed ticketmaster will have to refund as they are a member of STAR.
Either way eventually you will get a refund. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
