Transfer from old to new phone

I just recieved an Iphone 5 to replace my old HTC desire HD but have so far been unable to transfer all my info across to the new phone.

Does anyone know of a way to do this as I really don't fancy having to enter all my contacts info manually.

I'm not a tech expert but perhaps you can sync your contacts to Google (or is it called Gmail?) contacts using your old phone. Then sync your new phone to google contacts. I'm sure someone here will come up with a better answer.

Thanks for that. Worked perfectly, bit of a workaround for something that should be simple but at least it works.
