Yahoo - virus problem

Options
I have a Yahoo account which I originally set up for Freecycle but now use for a lot of stuff.

Today I had a lot of mail failure notices in my Inbox but had no idea why as I had not written to anyone that day... a friend has sent me the message and it is a link to a spam site.

What do I do? I have run a Norton scan and can't find anything...

Grateful for any advice.

Thanks

Change your password on Yahoo it is probably not a virus more likely some name scraper and using your name as "send to: or "reply to:" . Check if there are
    sent messages in your sent/outbox

    I've been Money Tipped!
Looked in sent mail - nothing... yet my other email address shows a received message from my Yahoo account.

I'm not at all techie and just don't get it - how can I get a message from my Yahoo account yet that account not show it in the Sent Mail folder?

    Also, what's a 'scraper'?

How much risk is there to my files on my hard drive etc?

    Thanks

    Have a read: http://www.pcworld.com/article/253305/minimize_your_exposure_to_email_spoofing.html

The problems not likely down to you, so your files should be safe.

It's possible someone else's address book may have been harvested if they've ever been been infected or had their email account compromised. If they have you as a contact then that's just one way your own address might have been harvested.

The "scaper" DCM refers to is something the spammers use that searches the internet & web pages looking for email addresses to harvested for use in their spam runs. It might also be referred to as a spider, bot or extractor.

add filters to delete the files, your not infected, someone is spoofing
some script kiddy. shouldnt last long, after a week of adding filters it stopped.
