Laminate flooring.

Options
Can someone give me an idea of cost to have laminate flooring fitted. There seems to be some good offers about but I wonder how much extra to add on my reckoning for the fitters charge.

For laminate floor fitting you're looking at between £6-£10 per square metre, could be more if you are down south. Extras will be charged for putting new beading/skirting, new threshold bars and planing down doors etc.

I had a look at some wood floor fitting website based in London, and they were charging £20 per square metre of fitting laminate, but that included prep work, door cutting, fitting of beadings and threshold bars.

    Hope that helps.

We laid our own laminate three weeks ago, we paid just under £250 for underlay, laminate and beading. It was for a living/dining room at 28 square metres. We allowed 10% extra and had loads left over so took it back b&q and got £48 refund, we then used the unexpected refund to reprint the rooms too.

It's really not too difficult to lay laminate yourself if you're on a budget, it took two of us around 6 hours to do the lot, I'd never done it before but OH has done it once before. If you can get someone to help you it will save you loads, just be prepared to ache for two days.

Also the laminate we got wasn't the really cheap stuff but a nicer finish on offer at the time and happened to be an extra 20% off all flooring. At full price the same would have been £390 for us
