Nationwide FlexDirect - online application - documents required?

Applied for the Nationwide FlexDirect online and at the end of the process it said....

We are pleased to confirm that your FlexDirect Account application has been approved.

What happens next?

We just need you to provide & sign some documents before we can open the account. We will send you a letter within the next 5 working days confirming what we need.

What kind of documents will they need? Anyone know? Want to get the account up and running ASAP and if they need wage slips etc. will need to get them ordered from work.

It depends, they might need nothing but for you to sign a piece of paper. Although they might need a utility bill and copy of a passport. Until you get that letter, you won't know.

But if you have not changed house and are on the electoral register, etc, changes are good they'll just ask for your signature.

I've never been asked for wage slips from any bank.

If you aren't already a customer of the building society it seems to be standard practice for them to ask for identification even if they can verify you electronically, or so it states in their welcome brochure.

What / how much ID they require depends on whether they were able to ID you electronically - for example I only had to provide one proof of ID.

Had you ever held accounts with the building society before?

One of their brochures states that new customers to the building society must provide proof of ID when they open their first account, end of.
