I have a relatively new laptop (Centrino) with 1GB RAM and yet when I try to print I usually have to wait a good few minutes before I get the print dialogue box to appear.
Any ideas as to how I can make this quicker? (FYI I upgraded the memory from 512MB to 1GB for this reason but there was no noticeable difference)

What sort of stuff are you trying to print? Images? text? Does it do the same for a tiny notepad document as it does for a large image?
Is it a network printer or a locally connected printer (USB / parallel)?Throwing acid is bad.... in some peoples eyes...0 -

In answer to your questions:
- Trying to print webpages or PDFs .doc files etc (nothing to big) I always have to wait quite a bit. (just tried a small notepad document, and its the same!)
- The printer is networked (USB) but when I use the same printer form another PC (which is not directly conetced to it), it is much faster.

For anyone else having the same problem, I found out the reason for teh long delay:
I simply had too many printers/faxes installed on my laptop (accumulating over time) so I simply deleted all the ones I didn't need (from Control Panel >> Printers and Faxes)
Hey presto, my printing is back to bearable waiting time again.0
