Hi Everyone,
I'm fundraising for the Joshua Foundation, and looking for some raffle prizes.
Do any of you know which companies i can write to in order to get some prizes?
many thanks,
salimali

Local Tesco usually give £5 voucher, so do Woolworths. Somerfield is normally a box of biscuits or bottle of wine.
I would ask family/friend etc first for unwanted prizes, then try locally eg local restaurant, hairdressers etc but if you are arranging something further afield look for companies like B&Q, Debenhams, Littlewoods, Iceland, D&G Group (PC World, Currys etc).
If you write to them use (if you can) official paper and also address to the Marketing Dept - Manager or Director of Marketing.
I used to put in the letter something like 'I appreciate you may get unindated with requests but if you are unable to assist, may I thank you for taking the time to read my letter. (Always worked for me)

Sports Centres are usually good.
How about spending some Tesco vouchers on a family day to Legoland - makes the prize more appealing.
Any parents got properties abroad? - a week away?
Someone with a large car - airport run - to and from a venue of their choice.
The local garden centre - do they have a membership scheme? or a restaurant?
Worst case scenario - buy something using donated vouchers.
There are plenty of parents at our school that happily turn over their tesco/nectar vouchers to the PTA.

I think I have posted something similar before but I have found if it is a family fun day or even an evening affair. A few amusing raffle prizes e.g. husbands cleaning cars or doing washing, children (supervised of course ) doing jobs sweeping leaves, brushing paths and garages out, etc are quite amusing.
ALso try local driving schools, every time I do a fund raising day most of the driving schools are fighting to give me two to three free driving lessons because they get repeat business and free advertising!
Ask local MSERs to donate freebies they don't want and make baskets up!!!
Ask local Boots and chemists for gift vouchers to a small value and they will usually give you a £5 voucher as people add to it. The same with W.H. Smiths for vouchers also they sometimes have out of date cards (i.e. new stock coming and they tend to throw out unused cards after xmas sales etc.

always worth writing to local attractions, does Caerphilly have a castle, nature reserves, anywhere you'd take the kids for a day out locally.Signature removed for peace of mind0

When I ran the local toddler group, one of the mums organised the raffle and by chance wrote to John Lewis, who donated an Ex-display dolls house, which was a mavellous 1st prize. We also had some good results from local Companys, i.e. Mercedes Benz gave us a model truck. Local fruit and veg shop donated a basket of fruit etc.,
