Iceland burgers

Just as long as they're "2 for 1" and haven't been "100 to 1".

I've eaten horse in France and I'm afraid to say that it was absolutely delicious. Like beef, but milder and so sweet. If I'm ever in France again and saw it for sale or on a restaurant menu, I'd buy or order it without hesitation. If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5?

A couple of links:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2013/jan/24/cost-cheap-burger-higher-12p (just read the part about what goes in an economy burger)
http://www.thebritishmenu.com/blog/horse-meat-found-in-burgers-well-its-our-own-fault/ (Includes a recipe for proper burgers)
I just want people to realise that even if the packet states "100% beef" or whichever percentage, it does not mean prime cuts of proper meat. It means the bits of cow that can't be used for anything else and that includes gristle (ground down so you can't feel/taste it). It doesn't just happen to beef burgers, also chicken nuggets, lamb burgers, sausages - I could be here all day

Yeah, I'm sure none of us knew that.0

I'm guessing your comment is directed at me. It is very clear to me that people do not know what goes into processed food, including cheap burgers. Anybody who knows what goes into them surely wouldn't eat these products unless they want to do themselves a mischief?
As far as I'm concerned, people (in general) need to be told and educated on a variety of things. Every day is a school day. You may not like it, but I will do my best to be informative.0 -
I don't think its that people don't know they just don't care in most cases."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0

Problem we have...Industrial supermarkets....selling industrial food....out of the above would only buy the spicy bean burgers ...iceland are okay for milk /free range eggs/frozen veg...anything else...bleurgh...check their fish and chicken, mostly farmed out of Asia /EU , where it`s more lax...and they are not only ones` ..Tesco/morrison (chicken from Holland)....are just as bad“When the debate is lost, slander becomes the tool of the loser.” Socrates

Thank you for the article about the burgers.I found it interesting, however i think it is important to remember than there are very many people who do not have the money to pay for decent food, and for them it is not a choice but necessity.trolleyrun wrote: »I'm guessing your comment is directed at me. Their own brand is on special offer at half price (guarantee no horse), and if you don't like them they will refund your money back.
Don't know if its just a local offer but I shouldn't think so??

If you say you don't like them then I guess you could keep getting burgers for free for a while if you don't use the same branch all the time? :T0
