Saw advert in Iceland window this afternoon about burgers.
Their own brand is on special offer at half price (guarantee no horse), and if you don't like them they will refund your money back.
Don't know if its just a local offer but I shouldn't think so??

Still think i will opt for the butcher, perhaps why they are half price-trying to get customers back.0

Good offer
8 SMALL BURGERS 50P
4 QUARTER POUNDERS 50P
4 QUARTER POUNDERS WITH CARAMELIZED ONION 75P
worth getting plenty and eat them over the year (most of mine had dec 2013 date)- remember barbeque season in a few months.
Cheers poster i bought ten packs.Save saynoto0870.com in your favorites, and stop giving companies more £££ dialling 0870 numbers when you can dial freephones or cheaper alternatives.:j0 -

Iceland was one of the only ones not to have contained horsey at all opting to use british beef.Save saynoto0870.com in your favorites, and stop giving companies more £££ dialling 0870 numbers when you can dial freephones or cheaper alternatives.:j0 -
To be honest, I wouldn't buy burgers in a supermarket. Even if there's no horse in them, they still contain a lot of what I call rubbish.
If I feel like eating some burgers, I make them myself. It's easy and I know what's in them as I often mince my own meat as well. If I couldn't be bothered to make them I'd go to my local butcher.
I don't mean to come across all sanctimonious and holier than thou, but burgers at the prices stated above cannot contain any good quality meat, just a lot of left-over bits and other icky bits.0 -
Aye, pretty good idea tbh. Also loads of leaflets and board saying how we were the first to ban GM, trans fats etc, can't blame them for the marketing approach.
Just to say folks this includes ALL Iceland branded burgers, not just beef burgers, so chicken, lamb etc too. ALSO the vegetable burgers and Spicy bean burgers which you'll find in the vegetarian cabinet not with the burger cabinets are half price as well.
Although as said some aren't 100% beef, as in it'll be say 80% beef but some fillers as well, the 100% beef quarter pounds which are just listed as "beef 99%, salt 1%" on the back, no other chemical stuff, are £1 which is a pretty good price I think.
It is nation wide AFAIK and they're selling like mad, we've already sold out of a few lines. I don't know how long this offer is going on for but I doubt it'll be for very long.0 -

They did find horsemeat according to reports but Iceland don't believe the Irish food safety agency. The CEO of Iceland said "Well thats the Irish for you" on Panorama last week when he got questioned about it.0 -
