Debt Collectors and EOn incompetence

Hi Malc,
thank you for the reply.
I'll raise a complaint. I am not sure the readings were provided - this is something I've to check with the company.
When moved in I had no idea where the meters where and the landlord didn't help at all.
I'll write few letters and hopefully get something out of this.
What happens in case I have no actual meter reading or I can provide them now? (I am contacting the landlord trying to see whether he has the reading!)
Thank you very much,
Unlocated
Morning unlocated
If you've meter readings or the landlord/letting agent can provide them for the day you moved in, we'll be happy to re-bill to these.
Where we don't have readings, we'll use estimates.
Do you know if the previous tenant advised of readings to close their account? If they did, we'll have opened your account to these provided, that is, there wasn't a gap in tenancy between them moving out and you moving in.
If this was the case, the starting readings will be noted with 'A' on the first bill. Also, if you can help. Do you know where I can find the document stating about responsibilities for users and service providers?
e.g. providing the final bill, who should do that? When? etc.
Thank you,
Unlocated
This type of information will be in the Welcome Pack we send to new customers. It'll also be included in the Terms and Conditions.
Terms and Conditions are sent with the Welcome Pack and can also be viewed online through our website.Just to make the point:
I'm not ignoring, waiting or whatsoever. I know I have to pay and will do. I just don't want to pay unfairly.
If they knew I was going to switch company in 1 month, why sending a quarter bill? That's silly!
Billing frequencies are set against the property. Therefore, as Fire Fox says, quarterly bills are sent at fixed times regardless of tenancy changes or supply switches.
Hope this answers your questions unlocated. Give me a shout if I've missed anything or if you need any more details.

Hi unlocated
Terms and Conditions are on our website. They'll be listed under the name of your tariff.
I suspect you were on our standard tariff, E.ON Energy Plan. This will be noted on your bill.
Alternatively, give us a call and we'll pop a copy in the post.

Thanks for the message. I have moved from the property and it's not my job to send myself the final bill for the property, isn't it?
I am trying to resolve the issue, how am I been forgetful or lacking effort?
You yourself said you'd forgotten about it herehello!
I believe I forgot about this until I received this call the other day. I gave the debt collectors my previous address to start talking about this issue.

You haven't said whether you gave Eon your new address in order that they could send the final bill before you forgot about it?0 -

I switched company and moved to another property after 6 months.. how long does it take to send a final bill? (thing that they didn't do anyway even at the previous address)0 -
I've been called today by the elec. company.
according to regulations in electricity matters, they have written off the debt (mainly because of their mistake of sending off the billing to the previous address and also because it's something of more than 1 year ago).
They will get in touch with advantis to stop them bothering me.
(Although I wrote them telling them to stop contacting me, that I would sort out the debt directly with the company and to discard any personal information they have on their database - as indicated by the Data Protection Act 1998).
Hopefully this case is closed.
Thanks for your help!
