Under the bed is full of clothes ... I change it over seasonally so just now it's full if winter clothes ...
Mr el has his wardrobe full and I have the wardrobe full in the spare room ( when we split the second time and he wouldn't move out we took a room each .. He has more clothes than me so has the bigger room I have the wee room... We like it that way now a it suits us better)
Have had a look at my room and there jut isn't space for even a piece of paper
Have asked son's GF if she is interested in selling stuff on eBay as I have a good but to get rid of and would give her a cut of what she sells for me ... If I can reduce my stuff down then I can move some of that stuff up stairs an use the under stair cupboard I think0 -
I have bits and bobs all over the house ... I think it would be great to get it all in the one place ... The store cupboard shower stuff I in my bedroom the toilet roll... Moisturiser, spf etc is in the spare room the food in the kitchen so I don't actually know how much we have as a store cupboard a it's kept in all different places0

But maybe you just have to do what works for you? and the space you have.
I am thinking of trying a slow cooker recipe each month in an attempt to find a use for the thing - if in six months I still hate it then it's going! You in?Mortgage OP 2025 £6750/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000

Tasted the yoghurt, it's delicious ... Need to find a way to make it with smaller quantities now as 1 litre of yoghurt is just a tad too much lol
Maybe one day I will make kefir again
Pleased you liked your yoghurt. My yoghurt maker makes 6 individual yoghurts-they're yummy.GE 36 *MFD may 2043

Where is a good place to have a store cupboard? I have 3 cupboards in my house all together ( apart from the kitchen and bedroom ones) the first one in the hall has jackets, car cleaning stuff gas and electric metres walking poles and a walking bag
The other cupboard has a water tank thing ( you know one of those things with jackets on them to store hot water?) and towels ... The third cupboard has photograph albums, camping stuff, back pack full of air beds etc, sports stuff, massage stuff, financial stuff, stationery and two guitars ... Everything apart from the photograph albums get used fairly frequently ... I think I could put the camping stuff and photograph albums in the loft ( although there isn't much space up there ... And I don't like the idea of putting someof it up there in case it gets damaged) but I still would have to find space for the rest... And this cupboard is under the stairs so not a huge space either
I notice though that we do buy a lot of stuff in bulk so it would be a good idea to have a kinda store cupboard, just not sure where I can put one
Hmmm
We could do with a store cupboard too. We do need a new kitchen and I have seen a pantry cupboard that I would like (if we can get it to fit in our tiny kitchen). It won't get done until at least next year though-all art of our expensive house repairs that need doing.
I think bodge it and scarper had our house before us -it's poorly designed inside and the workmanship on some of it is :eek:GE 36 *MFD may 2043

I'm in skinty as I feel the same way as you about the slow cooker
will we make the same thing each month and compare ?
Tatty we are desperate for a new kitchen as well ours must be at least 33 years old ( the original one when the house was built) we have promised ourselves that when the debt is cleared the first thing we save for is a new kitchen mr el LOVES cooking and our kitchen just doesn't work for him just now so it needs to go ... But not we have money0 -
Tatty what's this 6 individual pot making yoghurt thing ? I only need a wee pit at a time and 1 litre is just too much for us so individual ones may be the answer0

I can relate to not having the money. We need a new bathroom too-there is also a hole in the kitchen ceiling under the bath

Kitchen floor not level, tiles all cracked etc aarrgghhh
Oh and the cupboard units are coming away from the wall.GE 36 *MFD may 2043

I *really* think we need a concerted effort in the making extra money stakes.
Money is a PAIN in the !!!!.:D
(also needs new garden, kitchen celling bathroom and car.....oh and somewhere to live. )Nevertheless she persisted.0 -
I can join all of the above we still have polystyrene tiles on the bathroom ceiling and our boiler is 33 years old as well ( original boiler)
Mr el an I talked about it a lot over the years ... And we never seem to get past the fact that until the last payment on the house is made we don't own it, if we get into trouble we loose the house ... Imagine having spent 10k or something on a kitchen just to get into trouble and loose the house ... Imagine of the trouble we got into amounted to 10k ... How p1$$ed off would that make ya ... So whilst we have spent a good 30k or so so far on the house we ain't spending any more unless its an emergency or unless we own the house
When we own it then it will be a case of saving for each thing an getting it done ... I think we will be much more demanding on our money working for us as well ... So there won't be any frivolous spending on things we really don't need0
