Legal and General £100 M&S Vouchers

Can anyone advise - I took our a legal and general house buildings and contents insurance in December, as they leafletted my area saying we would get £100 M&S vouchers if we took out a policy with them. The policy was £80 more than a competitor, but I thought this would work out ok in the long run, as I would shop at M&S anyway. L&G are now saying I am not entitled to the vouchers as I did not activate a code when I applied on line. What code? There was nothing to click on line when I took out the policy. Any ideas gratefully received.

Hi elfrune; It's likely your post will be moved somewhere better on the forum where you can get advice as this is the wrong board really. Have you tried telephoning and asking to speak to a manager about this?

I have emailed them several times - they need a code from me to activate it. Sorry I put it on the wrong board - first ever post. Have tried browsing for codes on line, but seems mine was just a leaflet. Fool me threw away the leaflet so wife would not find it and know she was getting £100 to spend for her birthday, hence my not now having the code.

I think I would phone them and go through to a manager. It seems that their M&S gift voucher incentives are commonplace from a quick search. If the incentive was these vouchers and it wasn't absolutely transparent what you were required to do when taking the policy, then I would use this as leverage with a manager.

I would assume that by code they mean promotional code - usually with these kinds of offers when you do it online there is a section which asks if you have a promotional code and thats how they know who to send the vouchers off to. If you ring them and speak to a manager as someone above mentioned they may be able to help you but in all honesty I'm going to guess they probably won't if you don't have the leaflet still, But you never know..Good Luck!

Hi, the same has happened to me this year. I took out a policy to get the £80 M&S vouchers, I putted a code which I didn't record and now they won't pay up as they say I didn't input a code which I know I did, telling them it ended in 80 doesn't seem to be enough! I am now well miffed too!
