Seperate hob - what can I put underneath
Comments

Many thanks for the advice - yes buying new seperates not deconstructing my existing oven!
I've just used the kitchen designer on ikea (just to get a view on layout, I've heard ikea kitchen cupboards aren't great) and it showed hob cupboards so looks good.
reconsidering whether to put it over washing machine but opens up options.
I would never have an appliance over an appliance unless they were to be used together (like oven and hob for example).
Obviously it depends on the way you live but if someone is cooking something on the hob that needs almost constant attention (stirring sauces for instance) and someone else wants to chuck something in the washing machine then it might be a bit of a faff.
I have pan drawers under my hob, very practical imo.Herman - MP for all! 0 0

So you don't set fire to your hair when you get the pan out to use it on the hob? Sorry but you've just advocated the very thing you seem set against, and probably an even greater risk than your example of the washing machine.
I would argue that it's the logical position to put the dishwasher under the hob, they get used after cooking rather than duringI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0

:rotfl: I'm the clumsiest person in the world and in 9 years of cooking in a kitchen with pan drawers I've never once set fire to my hair!!!! :rotfl:
I use my dishwasher while cooking - I empty it before I start and then all the dirty stuff goes in while I'm waiting for something to cook. Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0

 What rubbish!
Most people I know get a pan out to put ingredients in before they even switch the hob on.
Do you put your hob on first, then get a pan out, then head for the sink to peel potatoes, then put the filled pan on the hob for example?Herman - MP for all! 0 0

No, like you I'm perfect, I get every single item out before I start cooking, 3 days in advance infact. :T:T:T:T
And again like you If I found I'd made a very uncharacteristic mistake and had forgot that extra pan I needed, I'd switch off all the cooking, move all the hot pans off the grill and then safely search away.:T:T:T:T:T
At least the OP gets a laugh out of it.
The point was to put the item that is compatible with placement under a hob, ie, not a cold unit, and the 1 that is least likely to be needed at the same time, can't quite see why my view is rubbish in your mind, but have it your way. A little humour obviously escapes you, I know the op isn't an idiot and he/she didn't take offence, infact had a laugh.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

And calling someone's post rubbish is a really becoming quality on your part, note the sarcasm againI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

I made all the comments you refer to earlier, just had to repeat them for your benefit, not quite sure what has offended you but you kicked off remember. I don't call other posters efforts rubbish unless they are advising actions that are totally unsafe.
I don't care why you feel the need to.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

 I don't even think you're reading what you're writing.
1st: I called your comment about hair catching fire when taking something out a drawer rubbish...because it was. Out of the millions of people who have pan drawers under their hob, I very much doubt hair catching fire has been an issue for them.
2nd: I didn't kick off, you did. You didn't like me calling your comment rubbish so you opted to be sarcastic and make comments about my sense of humour. (You really should have made it clear if your hair catching comment was in any way meant to be 'funny' btw, I thought it was a serious comment.)
3rd: I'm not in the least offended. I'm just surprised at your ensuing reaction to someone saying they thought what you said was rubbish. It seems a tad over sensitive and reactionary.
4th. Feel free to reply with whatever remarks you wish. Use as many happy clappy smilies as you wish, it'll be water off a duck's back tbh. I think your reaction to my initial post is strange and OTT and as such it seems to make sense to not engage with you further.Herman - MP for all! 0 0
