Hello,
Basically I moved to a rented accomodation 8 months ago and I made a contract with homechoice for Television and Broadband. Now I have asked what option I have and they said I can only pay the cancellation fee or move it to my new address..
I do not have a new address yet and staying at my mothers address until I find a new place.#
I thought of disconnecting my mums broadband as she has had it more than 12 months and it is possible to do so and connect mine to her address but unfortunately they do not provide it at her address.
I am getting a new place near my previous address in 1 month time but they do not pause my contract either.
Any suggestion please??

From what I can figure out, homechoice is the same as tiscali?
I had a look at their terms and conditions on their website, ( http://www.tiscali.co.uk/legal/terms/broadband-pre-may07.html ) and wondered whether this would cover your situation:17.2 You may end your contract with us:
17.2.1 by giving us at least 1 month's notice to us by telephone (please see "Contacting us"). You may not end this contract during the initial 12 months of your contract with us although you may provide us with notice by telephone of your intent to do so. You must pay all charges for the broadband service until the date on which your contract actually ends; or
17.2.2 at anytime if you move to a new address to which we cannot provide the broadband service. In such case you must contact us in advance by telephone (please see "Contacting us") and produce written proof of your new address;

Nope, as they CAN provide the service.But the op has tv which is not available in the majority of UK.I thought of disconnecting my mums broadband as she has had it more than 12 months and it is possible to do so and connect mine to her address but unfortunately they do not provide it at her address.
Sorry, I misunderstood. I read this as meaning that tiscali couldn't provide broadband at the OP's mum's place. I've searched in vain for a similar get-out clause in their TV terms and conditions Sounds like the OP could minimise their losses by switching mum's broadband, but will have to continue paying for TV they can no longer get.

Could you leave the contract "live" at your old place or transfer it to your new one early, or a mixture of both?0
