ok son has just called me telling that his focus 1.6 z-tech 09 has a light out.

One thing im not an expert on is cars. so im going to search google but you motoring guys are the best to ask.

Ok, passenger side, main beam is ok its the dipper that's gone.

Prices please for a new bulb(s) and is it worth going to Halfords to let them change it, or are they expensive.

Cheers.

47p to £139 for a bulb depending on the type and where you get it.

Is it a standard halogen bulb or a HID one that needs calibrating when you replace it?

    Halfords price about £10 , then its ?? a further £5/6 to replace .
Nearside bulb . Battery is in the way .

Personally I would get the 'expert' to fit it .
Weather is cold , I would struggle , so yes have attempted in the past.

Not MSE but thats what I do.

The Talkford website will have all the info you need, even if you have to sign up to ask on the forums. Left hand bulb on the older Focus is a real swine, I believe, don't know about the newer ones.

If it's a standard bulb (ie not HID), it would cost you about £3 from somewhere like unipart and take 5 mins to change if you know what you're doing.

It is usually easy, but if you're totally clueless though just pay halfords. If you're reasonably technically competent, just have a look on google and follow the instructions.

Hi - I have an oldish Ford Focus (10 years). Recently I had a rear light bulb go - can't remember which one. I popped down to the Ford garage near us and asked if they could replace it. They sent me to the spares counter where they sold me a bulb, which cost under £3. Then a very nice young man put it in for me for FREE. Result! I was very impressed. :D
