Car insurance quote changed

Hello. I have just done an online quote via Compare the Market and the cheapest quote was for Quotea which I had to phone to take out the insurance. Details logged on Compare the Market was 'licence held for 14 years', 'no no claims' and 'I had been on someone elses insurance for less than a year'.
When I telpephoned Quotea they said that the insurance would be more than £300 more than the quote because I hadn't been on someones elses policy for the last 5 years.
Can they change the amount that was quoted because all of the information I put on the quote was correct. And is their reason for upping the amount valid? Many thanks

Possibly, you would need to see the terms and conditions and assumptions when you click through to their site. If it is in those and evidently they arent something you can agree to then it invalidates the quote
