Opus (ex-Citi) card - will it ever get better?

Hi guys,

Just wondering - does anyone else still have this Opus card? It is the ex Citicard when Opus took over, which for me was in December 2010. Since then I have seen the rate steadily get worse and worse - not that it was ever great, but it's gone from 27.9% to 34.4% to 39.8% and now to 45.3%. Also, after my last long BT expired from my original Citi card, I have not seen any kind of BT or other promo offers from Opus. I've called a few times and they've always confirmed that so far they don't do any promotional offers.

Ok so it's been a couple of years, I've had the card paid off and mostly unused for quite a while now, and really not sure what good it could do to keep it open, as I have enough credit with other cards, and wouldn't have any need for the extra credit.

The only reason I could imagine to keep this one open would be if by some chance they might start doing promotional offers, or perhaps be bought out by Barclays or some other bank that do.

I've had the card since 2004, so I hate to close a card with such a long history - but at this point I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to use this card again, and I think it's doing more harm than good to keep it open on my credit file (since I have several other cards with high credit limits).

Does anyone suspect this card will ever be useful again?

No need keeping it if you have other cards....I would just close it. Settled accounts can also improve your credit score....
