Friday 1st March Today is a good day :-)

Today is a very good day :j

That is because my last payment towards my IVA of £506 left my bank account so I think that makes me DEBT FREE :T

I was with CCCS or Stepchange as they are now known and they have helped me every step of the way. For those that are starting out or already on the path the best thing you can do is accept it stick to your budget and just look forward to this day.

However, I have just one or two question around my credit file.

1. I have been using Credit Expert and have defaults dated nearly a month after I went into my IVA now I believe I can these backdated to my IVA date. If I get Credit Expert to do the work chase my creditors and get these corrected would these be automatically corrected on the other two Credit Reference agencies or will I have to get them to pursue my creditors too.

2. Anyone have experience on how long it will be before I see a completion certificate from Stepchange as I have read some horror stories about them being delayed by other IPs due to PPI

3. What should be seen on my Credit Expert file where there was a value of outstanding debt for each of my Creditors?

4. How long before my IVA is removed from the IVA database thingy?

Thanks in advance for any answers to the questions above.

Congratulations on getting though your iva  looking forward to that day :)

    1. I'd imagine you'll have to chase each credit agency, although they should all be off after 6yrs.

    4. like the credit record I'm sure the iva register is 6yrs from the date of the iva too

I'm with CCCS/SC so would be keen to know for the future albeit 4.5yrs away lol no be long flying in
Roll on DFD, final payment 1st October 2017

Congrats on finishing your IVA. I dont want to put a downer on things but its not over yet. I paid F&F in June last year and am still awaiting my certificate. This was not really an issue until now when my car insurance is due for renewal and my existing company has decided to double my premium...trying to get a good deal with monthly payments is a nightmare even though my IVA is satified and I have a letter to prove it I am still shown as in IVA on the insolvency register and still will until three months after I get my certificate!!!!!!!!!!! My advice is push hard for your certificate!!!.

    Hi there

Just wanted to clarify that the Insolvency Register will display details of any IVAs that are current as well as any that have finished in the last 3 months.

    Regards

Well done on making it to the F & F payment! Re point 3)

I have gotten absolutely nowhere getting ANY of the CRAs to do anything about erroneous entries on my report. I have dealt directly with the lenders that have posted said entries on my report and EVENTUALLY they get around to doing something. However, even that wasn't straightforward: I had to send them copies of my completion certificate and occasionally get my supervisor to give them a kick. It makes me wonder why I bother paying the CRAs any money as they seem to just view me as a revenue stream and the lenders that put the entries there in the first place are their real customers!

Well done on completing your IVA, i completed mine on 2nd September last year (Via Debtmatters now PayPlan) and have only just received my certificate today.

The delay is caused by HMRC have been investigating tax changes with IVA (i dont know the specifics, however this is what i was advised). I was made aware of a following meeting about my case which needed to take place in november. You should ask your IVA company about this as you are still a client of theirs until you receive your cert.

The certificate should come through within the next 3 months (should). (or as mine turned out about 3.5 months from the hmrc meet)

I have also spoken to check my file and the insolvency register. I believe that you will show (as i do) on the register for a following 3 months based upon the statement they have.

I have specifically asked about the notice that shows on my credit file.

You should contact them and ask their advise, however there is no way to get them to send it sooner as they have to wait (I got a little stroppy with mine! :S)

Good Luck with everything and congrats again.

Haha thanks very much...must be kismet but after my last search I came across this company as my only real alternative...the premium is not bad but gotta lay out 2 months worth as a deposit!!!! looks like cabbage soup for the rest of the month...hahahaha

    Just an update on this....

    Last IVA Payment : 1st March 2013
    Completion Certificate Received : 16th April 2013

A bit of useful info maybe, I spoke to my IP in the middle of March after reading some of the above comments above. They said the completion certificate had to be completed by Mid April because of Tax reasons and the end of the financial year.

Credit Expert are contacting my Creditors to get them to update there records

Good Luck to those that are just starting out you will get there.

Only had to wait 1 Month for your certificate? That is incredible!!! Who was your IP? They deserve a mention.

Well done on completing your IVA. I'm still in my first year.
