Question about points on licence/ban

Hi all

I was disqualified from driving in 2006 for being drunk and driving dangerously(i was young and stupid). I only had my licence a few months. I got a 2 year and 1 year ban and 2 fines. I was ordered by a court to sit an extended test and do the theory again.

I passed my extended test in 2011 and have been driving since.

What I want to know is am I still under the 6 point 2 year probation or not as I have passed my test twice. Does the 6 point 2 year probation only apply to 1st time passers?

Any help would be appreciated!!

No - the New Drivers Act only applies to the first occasion on which you pass your driving test (Linky)

Shouldn't be - the convictions became spent after 5 years and now don't need to be declared to insurers.

The driving licence endorsement doesn't affect the rehabilitation period - that's determined by the actual penalty (5 years for a fine/community service, the length of the ban for a ban etc). Power v Provincial Insurance is the relevant case law.

Once the conviction is spent you don't have to declare it, even if asked. The financial ombudsman agrees.
