Thanks for your guidance. They consider being on the register for several years a sign of stability.
They could check my full time permanent contract with the NHS for several years as a sign of stability as well, couldn´t they?
One last innocent question. My parents have two detached houses back in Spain (they had money to buy a massive house but apparently not enough to pay his son´s studies...).
Anyway, may I get a secured loan using one of theses houses located in Spain as a guarantee? How much money could any British bank lend me under these circumstances??
Cheers0 -
Can't really help in any practical way G, just wanted to say don't give up! My better half has just retired from the BA 747-400 fleet, after spending 20+yrs as a skipper on it. However, when I met him, he was a struggling student pilot, trying to get a loan to fund his CPL/ATPL. No bank would loan to him, he tried several charitable trusts without success too. We just muddled through on my salary, he working for free to gain hours-he got there in the end-you will too...good luck xDebt-free...and staying that way...0

They could in theory, in practice they won't. Checking the electoral roll is something they can do quickly and easily and automatically.

None at all, your parents would need to look to raise money in Spain secured on the properties in Spain, you cannot raise any money on them, and not in the UK.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -

Word of caution as the situation has ch aged massively in those twenty years. Most work now would be with budget airlines, salaries with them are a fraction of those historically with the legacy carriers. Definitely worth checking out the current situation, as there is anecdotally an over supply of pilots, in the us southwest were laying their pilots so little that they qualified for food stamps.0 -

Get your parents to take the loan out in spain and you pay them each month.
No job is secure these days. NHS make cuts also.
Big question though your taking home about £15000 a year? How much money do you have left over each month and how much do you save each year?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Thanks for your previous answers.
I spoke with my parents and they told me that I actually own their properties, they registered with my name those which are fully paid, a flat, a detached house and some lands, all of them located in a small town in Spain.
Do you know if any British or International bank will lend me 25.000 pounds? The value of these Spanish properties is more than 180.000 pounds and therefore I could use them as a guarantee but not sure if any bank would take the risk.
I ll appreciate any advise.

No British bank is going to accept overseas properties as security for a loan. Your best bet is a Spanish bank, but as you don't live in Spain, event that might be problematic.0 -
