People are usually put off after buying a shed.

I'll go along with that. That's why I no longer look at Vauxhalls, Renaults or Citreons.

  • My first car was a Seicento and it didn't go wrong for ages...then a million things went wrong at once and I had to scrap it.

Second was a Matiz - which apparently are a bit hitty missy, I know as many people that have had good ones as bad ones. I had it for 6 months during which I replaced 2 fan belts and brake pads, then part ex'd it when the radiator cracked.

Now I have a Corsa and absolutely adore it - had to replace the exhaust and the brakes over the space of a year and a half so not too bad :)

First one looks clean and tidy but I personally prefer the 3 door version.

Second one (which is a MK2B) may be a tad expensive on the insurance as it's a sport version. Also, I like the previous front end over the Mk2B but that's just me being picky! I think the pre-modified version's front looks a lot cooler.

Having said that, it's seems quite a good spec car for the money and obviously it's younger.

Both are certainly worth a look.

  • the dearer car isnt too bad on the insurance (i didnt realise it was a sports version) 1500 fully comp with having me and dad as named drivers but thats paying it all in one go of course, well not bad for a young person starting out that is! I do like knowing that theres a bit of power there if need be. I shall print your notes off as to what to check, thank you for that and hopefully i might get to look at one on saturday. but of course if they have gone they have gone and they arent meant to be.

I had a matiz one time and it was a nightmare! I bought it brand new and didn't even keep it a year. I got rid of it and got a Yaris instead, which was great. ( Then I got another Yaris after and I love it too).

The matiz had so many faults, such as gears and clutch, electrics, starter, seat fixings, paint.

Nissan Micra? I had 3 of the old square shaped ones when i passed, i hit a few posts and tree stumps but it was all part of learning to really drive on my own

you could buy your daughter a kia on some crazy finance deal like someone else did on here? (i joke..!)
  • My suggestion is do a google search,"car insurance group". Then from those groups should aid you in vehicle options in low premiums

All cars can be reliable if looked after.

Warned off french cars? I have a Citroen that has just clocked 200,000 miles and still pulls like a train.

But would I recommend you buy one? Probably not, because like Fiats they can't take abuse as well as some other makes. If you must get a Fiat, I'd certainly make absolutely sure it has a decent history with it. People who look after cars tend to keep all those details.

Tilt obviously has a talent for finding good ones that have been looked after.

As above, without a good history I'd go for an older Micra.
