i work part time.... i work on average 22 hours per week. my wages are between £550-£600 however this month and last month they were £750-£85.
my husband currently claims jsa cb, he also has an underlying entitlement to carers allowance for our son.
i read somewhere that if he were tos stop the jsa and claim the carers of £58 a week that he would also be entitled to a carer premium of £32 a week totalling £90 a week. is this correct or does it take into consideration my wages aswell?

He could claim CA, but any entitlement to IS would take into account your income. Unless you have mortgage costs, you would not receive any IS.
Edit: Scrub that, if you income is monthly you may have a small entitlement irrespective of your housing costs.0 -
it isnt correct.
if someone is on means tested benefit, and claim carers allowance then the carers allowance is deducted from the means tested benefit and a carers premium added.
your husband will not be entitled to means tested benefits as you earn over £111 a week0 -

The OP would have a higher applicable amount than the usual £111.45, theirs would be £144.05. Hence, they may well be entitled to means tested benefits.0 -
thanks for replies, think he is just better off on jsa cb.
can anyone tell me that if in june when his jsa cb comes to an end, and say he wasnt allowed to claim jsa ib because of my earnings, he could then get the carers allowance, would we still be entitled to housing and council tax benefit? thanks0 -
