Thanks for more advice guys.
I had heard Barcelona was a bit risky in terms of being robbed/mugged etc but as long as we are extra careful it won't put me off going!
Thanks for the advice re flights but my OH's birthday is in May and ideally I would like to have everything booked by then, plus we're moving in the summer so won't really have much spare cash then.
Thanks for all the tips of places to go and things to do, I am making notes!0 -
Jumping on the bandwagon here - I have a day in Barcelona coming up soon!
Basically am getting into the port from a cruise around 9am, and our flight from the airport doesn't leave until 7.20pm!
Its me and two teenagers, and obviously we will have a large suitcase each.
If anyone has any good ideas (and cheap!) for what we could do to fill our time it would be much appreciated.

The Ramblas and some of the streets off it in the old town are the usual mugging/pickpocketing hotspots, as that's where the tourists congregate. Nowhere else that you're likely to visit as a tourist is especially risky if you take the normal precautions. No free lunch, and no free laptop
