London Property Prices - Brixton the next Notting Hill?

Options
Did anyone watch the documentary - repeat I think - about Notting Hill's Portland Road the other night? It shows how the area has gone from a slum in the 1930s/40s to the playground of the super-rich today. Makes you think about all those house prices.

I used to live in Brixton, South London and I can see elements of the same thing happening there too. In 20 years time it could well be the next Notting Hill. This article is interesting on the topic. http://www.economist.com/node/21561929

And this piece on the Access Blog makes you think about how we all want what the Notting Hill set want, don't we?:j

  • Didn't see it, but the area that my parents brought me up in has gone the other way.

It was the suburban utopia that everyone moved out to from the city center.

    And no it's a slum

(note that not all outer London suburbia has turned into a slum, just this one)
