Hi,
I am thinking to buy a house in Basildon Essex area. It looks like it got good connection to london and a bit low on prices as well. I am going to go see a couple of new builds there this weekend however I would like to hear from ppl who have lived there and know the area?
Regards,
Nabeel

I know the area, there are good and bad parts like everywhere.. Just depends where you are looking0

I know the area well. There are some areas that suffer 'movement' so a full survey is always a good idea even before committing yourself to a new build.
Otherwise the market seems as steady as anywhere else and there are some very nice properties at some of the lowest prices in that area.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Hi,
I lived in Basildon for over 20 years,I still have a lot of family there.
Like most towns built in that era it has great areas and just plain rotten areas.
Have you considered Harlow?,that too is close to London with good roads and transport links.
If you need any info about either area, drop me a pm and I will be happy to help,

Only had experience of the new builds just on the outskirts at Laindon. Houses look very nice but again be aware there are a fair few years work building to occur.0

Thanks for the advice guys. Just to be specific, the place where I am looking to buy is Acacia Park, Broadmayne, Basildon, ESSEX, SS14 2EB very close to the train station.0

Hello
I know Acacia park have not actually looked at any places there but it does look very nice and handy for station and shops. Are you specifically looking at new builds or would you consider an older house? when I was looking last year there were a few repossesions going very cheap but you seemed to get a lot of house for your money
I just bought a house in Basildon right before christmas and to be honest was a bit wary as was told it was not the best of places to live etc but in the 11 weeks I have lived there I have never regretted moving, true about the good and bad parts but you get this everywhere, my new neighbours are friendly and made us feel welcome from the start, all the people I have spoken to so far have been nice and polite and you have everything pretty much on your door step, stations, shops etc also for getting into London the trains are very frequent and you can get the faster trains which cut out alot of the stations
Good luck with your search for your new home0
