Criminal Record for TV License

Is a TVL case not a civil case? Is not holding a TVL (when you should have one) really a criminal offence? If civil not criminal then the items referenced above probably are not relevant as they look to relate to questioning by Police.

With myself not being there I can't know exactly of how anything happened except of the fact that she definitely was pronounced guilty and that she definitely has no TV. Everything else is just coming from her words

LF evasion is a criminal offence. However, it is prosecuted by the BBC, not by the Police/CPS. There is a similar arrangement for HMRC, Benefits Agency, HSE etc.

PACE applies to them all.
