Netbook/tablet

Hi.
Thinking about getting a net book or tablet. I'm a student, so not overly heavy user.
I've looked into iPads/android tablets, but have been told they don't have word, so not sure how I could do work and if my printer!(hp) could print it.
I have also looked at net book, but have seen a review saying they can't support YouTube / flash well.
I'd like something , ideally, :
- can be light( not as heavy as laptop)
- can open multi web pages( aware with Appel you can't say, listen to YouTube and search online)
- have a word editing programme such as word or at least comparable
- decent battery life
Sorry it's a long list. I have tried searching but just hoping someone ' in the know' maybe able to offer advice on options .
Thank you for your time

If you are going to be a lot of typing and editing then you need a fullsize keyboard and a decent screen size, so personally I would go an ultrabook rather than a netbook.
Until recently we supplied our sales managers with netbooks and they complained that they were to big to carry around all the time and too small work on effectively. They have now been switched to smartphones with email push and fullsize laptops.0 -

They complain of netbooks being too heavy to carry and you supply them laptops, that makes so much sense.Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0 -
The op doesnt how much typing they would do, but a bluetooth keyboard on a 10.1 inch tablet would be ideal.
As for netbooks not supporting flash or youtube is a first, they support both no problem.
There are plenty of alternatives for word on android and apple. When you say multiple web pages, how many.
So 10.1 tablet with bluetooth & keyboard (with case). Give several hours of browsing or typing.Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0 -
You do NOT want a tablet, tablets are for web browsing, tv viewing, emails, basically as someone said the other day, consumption of data.
Typing loads of stuff of a tablet is a real pain, no feed back from the keys.Helping the country to sleep better....ZZZzzzzzzz0
