Does anyone else have to rely on oil heating?
We hear a great deal (not a "great deal") about problems with the pricing of electricity and gas. Consider the poor households that have to rely on oil (usually kerosene), they are much much more dependant on the volatile wholesale price of oil than the other energy sources. Let's get together to make our policy makers aware of the problem. Make a fuss about it, maybe even get Moneysavingexpert to campaign about it!

Campain for what?
It's energy its going up not much anyone can do about it other than insulate your home and use your energy efficiently & speak to neighbours buy in bulk. Do what energy firms do and buy ahead.

About what exactly? Oil costs about 65p/litre and contains about 10kWh of energy so each kWh is about 6.5p less than electric but more than gas.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Strictly less than full rate electric, more than E7 and gas (at least when I last looked).
I can't see any region where E7 is less than 7p per kWh

You might find another supplier where it is, but their tariffs are difficult to directly compare as they will include standing charges (or two rate charging on their tier 1 rates)0 -
These are straitened times. I have had to, unfortunately, cut down on my use of masseuses.0
