NCP parking

I recently went to Dublin and decided to save a bit of money and go to Stansted Mountfitchet train station to park my car instead of paying £65+. Now I spoke to one of NCP's online chat people and I explained I wanted to know if it was ok to park there for a few days and they told me it was ok as long as I calculated how much it would be, so this is what I done. Now the ticket showed it was only paid till 0400 on the 17th Feb. However, I'm sure the ticket didn't take into account of Saturday and Sunday rates, which were a lot lower. I even checked out the National Rail website and the amount I put in was correct, which worked out to be £15.40. I came back to find that my car had a ticket on there, even though I know I've paid the correct amount and I have appealed against it. I've also kept the original ticket too and I am going to be parking there again this week. Am I correct in saying that I am in the right and that I shouldn't pay this parking fine, which would work out to be £70?

Its not a fine, just an invoice requesting payment of an unenforceable penalty. You've paid, you can prove it, ignore NCP they will not take you to court. It will not affect your credit rating, the boys are not going to come around. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

NCP gave a guy 30+ tickets at a station car park in england they took his car in the end and he sued them and WON. They ended up paying £3k damages + his 30k legal fees + their own legal bill it was a BIG loss for NCP because the judge agreed that NCP and their parking charges were not enforceable!

So in short why do you think NCP will take YOU and your single ticket to court when they have been spanked in court already? When using the housing forum please use the sticky threads for valuable information.0 -

Of course you are right not to pay - it's a private one so not a real fine at all!
Doesn't mean you shouldn't pay the 'normal' rate to park - and you are sure you did. So keep the ticket you paid for with a note of how you worked it out, if oit makes you feel better to know you've noted your reasons for paying that amount. Not that NCP will be able to enforce this anyway. They will just send the usual scary letters then they will crawl back under their stone.
See my usual reply and lots of info links to understand that this is just a scam, in post #42 here:

Do you mean you were parked near Stansted Aiport? Or in a car park in Dublin? Not clear from your post because I don't know either place - and things are different in Ireland. I am guessing because you didn't mention Euros and you mentioned National Rail, that the car was parked in Stansted England. In which case you could then move up to a POPLA appeal after NCP randomly reject your 'pseudo-appeal' to them (PPCs don't cancel fake PCNs very often). Costs NCP money for a POPLA appeal as it's done at their expense, is supposedly independent and is only binding on them (not you). So you can still ignore again afterwards with no repercussions.
Read the advice on that linked post an you'll soon find the scales fall away from your eyes when you see this for what it really is - a scam!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Message from my mate Fitchet. It's a place, not an instruction. :rotfl:0 -
Thanks for all the replies guys. I am going to be parking at the same place tomorrow and doing the same thing again as before. I know the amount was correct and it even states on the National Rail website all the charges per day so NCP can go and kiss my .................0
